Description

Spiderweb Brownie Tart is a spooky Halloween dessert with a fudgy dark brownie base, creamy mint filling, and a glossy chocolate glaze decorated with a colorful spiderweb design. Perfect for parties and make-ahead treats.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Brownie Base:

1/3 cup butter

2/3 cup sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

3 tablespoons dark cocoa powder

Pinch of salt

2/3 cup flour

1/3 cup milk

Black food coloring gel

For the Mint Filling:

5 cups powdered sugar

8 tablespoons butter, melted

2 teaspoons mint extract

Orange, green, and purple food coloring gels

For the Chocolate Glaze & Spiderweb:

1 cup dark chocolate chips

6 tablespoons butter

Black food coloring gel

1/4 cup candy melts (orange, green, purple)

Optional Halloween decorations

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9-inch tart pan, placing it on a baking sheet.

2. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy, then beat in egg, vanilla, cocoa powder, and salt.

3. Alternate adding flour and milk until batter is smooth. Add black coloring until very dark.

4. Spread into prepared pan. Bake 14–16 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely.

5. Melt butter and mix with powdered sugar and mint extract. Add water a teaspoon at a time until spreadable.

6. Divide filling into three bowls. Tint orange, green, and purple. Transfer to piping bags.

7. Pipe colored rings onto cooled brownie. Cover with parchment and press lightly to smooth.

8. Melt chocolate chips with butter until smooth. Stir in black coloring. Pour glaze over filling.

9. Melt candy melts separately and pipe circles over glaze. Drag a toothpick outward to form a web.

10. Refrigerate until firm, preferably overnight. Gently push from tart pan bottom to release. Allow to soften slightly before slicing.

Notes

Use freezer-grade bags to prevent filling from drying.

Press parchment gently to help filling spread evenly without spilling.

Chill tart overnight before removing ring for clean edges.

Swap mint extract with almond or vanilla for variety.

Store covered in refrigerator and slice when slightly softened.
