Description

These Halloween Mummy Brownies are fudgy, chewy, and decorated with white chocolate mummy wraps and candy eyeballs. They’re fun to make, perfect for kids, and ideal for Halloween parties.

Ingredients

Scale

½ cup butter

¼ cup semisweet chocolate chips

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 large eggs

¾ cup flour (94g)

½ cup sugar (100g)

½ cup brown sugar (100g)

⅓ cup Dutch process cocoa (33g)

¼ teaspoon salt

Toppings: 1 cup white chocolate chips or candy wafers, 32 candy eyeballs

Instructions

1. Melt butter and semisweet chocolate chips together in the microwave in 30-second intervals until smooth.

2. Mix flour, brown sugar, sugar, cocoa powder, and salt in a separate bowl.

3. Add eggs and vanilla to the melted butter mixture and stir to combine.

4. Combine dry and wet ingredients by hand until fully incorporated.

5. Pour into a parchment-lined or greased 9×9-inch baking pan.

6. Bake at 350°F for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.

7. Cool in pan for 5 minutes, then lift out and let fully cool for 30 minutes.

8. Cut into 16 equal squares and place on a cooling rack.

9. Melt white chocolate in 30-second intervals until smooth.

10. Transfer melted chocolate to a sandwich bag, snip a corner, and drizzle over brownies.

11. Place 2 candy eyes on each brownie, using chocolate to secure them.

12. Drizzle more chocolate across the brownies to create a mummy wrap effect, ensuring it touches the eyes.

13. Let chocolate harden for 10–15 minutes before serving or storing.

Notes

White chocolate consistency can vary; add small amounts of vegetable oil to thin if needed.

Semisweet chocolate chips can be replaced with milk chocolate chips.

Dutch process cocoa can be substituted with baking cocoa powder.

Adding an extra egg results in a more cake-like brownie texture.
