Description

Ingredients

All-purpose flour (385g or 3 cups, spooned and leveled)

Granulated sugar (30g or 2 tbsp)

Instant yeast (2 tsp)

Fine sea salt (1 tsp)

Whole milk (240g or 1 cup, warm)

Large egg (1, room temperature)

Unsalted butter (57g or 4 tbsp, softened)

Garlic herb butter: unsalted butter (57g or 4 tbsp, melted), garlic (4 cloves, minced), fresh parsley (2 tbsp chopped), kosher salt (½ tsp)


Instructions

1. Warm milk to 100–110°F. Mix flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.

2. Add milk, egg, and butter. Mix until dough forms. Knead for 10–12 minutes until smooth and elastic.

3. Place in greased bowl, cover, and let rise 1–1.5 hours until doubled.

4. Punch down and divide dough into 12 pieces. Roll into balls and place in greased 9×13-inch pan.

5. Cover and rise again 30–45 minutes.

6. Preheat oven to 350°F. Bake 19–21 minutes until golden.

7. Mix garlic butter ingredients and brush onto warm rolls.

Notes

Ensure ingredients are at room temperature before starting.

Milk temperature is key—too hot will kill yeast, too cold delays rising.

Use a kitchen scale for accuracy.

Proper kneading develops gluten for soft texture.
