Description
Tender, flavorful crock pot Teriyaki Chicken made with a sweet and savory sauce. Perfect for easy dinners, meal prep, and family meals.
Ingredients
2 lbs chicken breasts
½ cup honey
¾ cup soy sauce
2 tbsp rice vinegar
¼ cup mirin
½ tsp powdered ginger
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
¼ tsp black pepper
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 tbsp cool water
Instructions
1. Lightly grease your slow cooker.
2. Whisk honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, mirin, powdered ginger, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and sesame oil directly in the crock pot.
3. Add chicken and coat well.
4. Cook on low 6 hours or high 3 hours until tender.
5. Remove chicken and shred with forks or mixer.
6. Strain sauce into saucepan.
7. Whisk cornstarch and water, then stir into sauce.
8. Bring to boil until thickened.
9. Toss half the sauce with chicken, reserve the rest for serving.
10. Serve with rice, veggies, or salad.
Notes
Use chicken thighs for juicier meat.
For gluten-free, choose GF soy sauce.
Fresh garlic, onion, and ginger add deeper flavor.
Do not omit mirin; it’s essential for authentic teriyaki taste.
