Description

Warm, golden, and comforting — this apple crisp features sweet-tart Honeycrisp apples with a buttery oat topping. It’s the ultimate fall dessert, especially when served warm with vanilla ice cream or caramel drizzle.

Ingredients

Scale

**Apple Filling**

5 cups fresh Honeycrisp apples, sliced (about 2 lbs)

1/2 cup granulated white sugar

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

**Crisp Topping**

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1/3 cup old-fashioned oats

2/3 cup packed brown sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

1/4 cup melted butter

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a baking dish with butter or spray.

2. In a large bowl, mix apples with sugar, cinnamon, and vanilla until coated.

3. Spread the apple mixture evenly into the prepared dish.

4. In a medium bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, salt, and cinnamon.

5. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture becomes crumbly.

6. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples without pressing it down.

7. Bake for 45–60 minutes, until the apples are soft and the topping is golden brown.

8. Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with ice cream if desired.

Notes

Slice apples evenly to ensure they bake uniformly.

Use foil if topping browns too quickly during baking.

Add chopped pecans or walnuts for extra crunch, if no allergy concerns.

Best served warm. Store leftovers covered in the fridge and reheat in oven for best texture.
